What makes our School Different?

Monday, 15 October 2007
Children with Flags on Leith LinksLeith Primary is an amazing and historic building right on the edge of Leith Links.  Although the building hosts a number of different users the school has very spacious and flexible accommodation.  There are music rooms, a games room, a library and an art and practical room.

The school truly reflects its catchment area.  We are proud of the diversity of the children and families we serve.  We are proud of the quality of education we provide for all children. We have an excellent record in providing care, support and challenge for all pupils.  We promote positive behaviour, respect for all and encourage a positive attitude to learning.

If you would like to see more please arrange a visit through the office.

Leith Win Basketball tournament

Friday, 12 March 2010
basketball_team2.jpgLast Friday afternoon the P6/7 basketball team went to Leith Academy for a Basketball tournament. Our first match was against Lorne Primary School who we beat 14-4. Our next match was against Hermitage Primary School and we beat them 6-2. After the first two matches we had a break and some practice. We then played our final match against Craigentinny Primary School. We beat them 8-6 so that meant we had won the tournament. It was great fun to play and great to win. By Ben Corrall

We Need Your Help!

Friday, 12 March 2010

We're looking for volunteer parents/carers to help with after-school clubs.   These are clubs that WE - Leith Primary Parent Council and Jessie Dahl the Active Schools Co-ordinator- have set up, but only YOU can make them happen !

Listed below are the clubs we need volunteers for.  Each of them only involves a couple of hours a week - please put your name down and help us improve after-school options for our children.

Areas where we need help:

  • Set up an Art and Craft Club

  • Assist a Drama teacher to run a Drama Club

  • Assist a tennis coach to run a lunchtime Tennis Club

  • Assist with Sailing at Granton Harbour

  • Help get kids to and from the Skate Park at Ocean Terminal

  • Help get kids to and from Leith Academy for a cooking club

We need at least 2 volunteers for each group.

If there are other ideas you have for clubs or if you're interested in setting something up please get in touch. The School Parent Council 'Friends of Leith Primary' is now able to disclose volunteers to run clubs, it's a great opportunity to set up all the clubs we want, but new clubs can only happen with your help!
