Thank you to everyone who helped us to think about Diversity and joined us for the parade. We have had henna hand painting, hair plaiting into corn-rows and are looking forward to other activities.

We are so grateful for the support you give us and love having your participation on trips, in the classroom and when giving us feedback. Thank you! It has been a pleasure to work with you all

Before leaving us to move on to Primary 1, our pupils will have

visited their classroom, will be having a school dinner, may
watch the school sports and spend time with other children who are moving on by visiting Edinburgh Zoo. This trip will happen on Monday June the 29th and will mean we will leave nursery at 9.00 and return for 3.15.

Nursery Newsletter May 2009

Written by Kathleen Johnston Saturday, 13 June 2009
may01.jpgWhat a busy class!
We are full and looking forward to a very busy last few weeks before the summer holidays. I can't believe that the pupils who came to us as three year olds are now these confident capable pupils ready to move on to Primary School. Everyone should know which school they are moving to and here at Leith we are delighted to have two Primary 1 classes next session. The school will be inviting you to visit on the afternoon of June the 10th and learn more about this next step.

Swimming at Dr Bell’s

Written by Kathleen Johnston Friday, 03 April 2009
The group who have been swimming will continue after the holiday until the end of May, as there are so many days we will not be here - Monday holidays. There will then be a short session for women and children only of 4 weeks. This group will only run if enough mothers wish to take their children to an all-women swimming session. Please add your name to the list on the nursery notice board. Mrs Wilkinson is very pleased with the progress and enthusiasm we all show for swimming - Well Done

Awards for All

Written by Kathleen Johnston Friday, 03 April 2009
Leith Nursery and Stanwell Nursery have been successful in an application to Awards for All and are about to embark on a year long journey which will be a voyage of discovery for, we hope, staff, pupils and their families and will leave a permanent legacy for our community. We hope to have events for parents to share what we hope to do and will be announcing these shortly after our return to nursery. I would like to think that in the future we would be able to say we helped to create this. Lucy Kendra has helped us so much to put the application together and, with her enthusiasm for the project, supported us as we formulated the ideas. Now we only have to carry them out - fingers crossed.
