The Edinburgh International Book Festival

Written by Morven, Colin and Liam Friday, 03 September 2010
bookfest2010-3.jpgWe were all excited, and then Mrs Moloney met us outside at 12.45pm. We had a hilarious time. We saw Kjartan Poskitt. He showed us some maths tricks. He was really mad. The whole crowd invented the number M. Chloe was demonstrating at the front. She had to cut up some paper, She was laughing.
We all thought we would have time for the bookshop but we didn't. Mrs Moloney was really sorry.
I thought it was really good and funny even though we didn't get to buy a book. I give it five stars.

Book Festival Visits

Written by Alasdair Friend Monday, 30 August 2010
bookfest2010-1.jpgThis week and next all classes will be visiting the book festival to meet authors and illustrators. Because of the cake sale money from last year many of the classes have been able to go for free or very cheaply.

Here are Primary 4/5 at the Festival.

bookfest2010-2.jpgP3 thought Simon Puttock was really funny when he read from his books and some of us bought a book which he signed. The next day we were very lucky to go on a trip to the City Arts Centre where we listened to some amazing stories, looked at the Art Exhibitions, listened to music on a flute and a Chinese harp, saw some tricks, went up the musical lift and then down the musical stairs. The morning was jam packed yet we even had time to walk through the Waverley station and see some trains.
Shona said this was the best trip she had ever been on!
