School Meals Initiative

School Meals Group
Written by Alan Patterson Monday, 01 October 2007

ImageFriends of Leith Primary have set up a School Meals Sub-Group to look into improving the quality and attractiveness of School Lunches. The group is still at an early stage and has held 2 meetings so far. Current activities include gathering information regarding the current setup of school meals provision. Provisional financial modelling to assess the feasibility of changing the current setup. We have arranged a meeting with The Soil Association who are very interested in participating in a scheme to improve school meals. We are also in the process of contacting various local Scottish and renowned chefs who are interested in school meals.

If you are interested in participating or would like to contribute some information, please email:-

FoLP

Friends of Leith Primary
Written by Elaine Ritch Friday, 03 September 2010
Do you have ideas for fundraising for the school. Are there opportunities that you think the pupils are missing out on? Can you help with after school activities, for example a Leith Primary School football club, sponsorship or an arts and crafts club? Do you want to make a difference? FoLP is looking for additional members. It could be someone to help with teas and coffees at fundraising events, or juice and biscuits at the Halloween disco. It could be someone who is annoyed at the reduced funding for the school. Maybe you just want to know more about what we do. The next meeting is on Wednessday 15th September at 7pm. The meeting will last around an hour and a half. Tea and coffee will be provided. You don't need to speak and it may not be for you, but come along and hear about our plans for the forthcoming year. We look forward to seeing you there.
